Admission Requirements - Others

Applicants presenting an International qualification (e.g. M’sia STPM, UEC, India Std XII-CBSE, ISCE, Indonesia SMA UAN, Vietnam High School Graduation Certificate, etc) or other qualifications not stated in the preceding groups above will also be considered for admission into SIT. Applicants are required to present the actual results (Forecasted results will not be considered) by 1 April of the year of application.

Former or current students from the local Autonomous Universities i.e., National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) or Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeking admission may also apply.

 


Holistic Assessment for Admission

SIT adopts a holistic approach in assessing applicants for admission by considering the following criteria:

  • High school certificate
  • Other qualifications where applicable (i.e. ACT, IELTS, MICHIGAN, SAT I, SAT II, TOEFL)
  • Work experience/Internships
  • Interview performance


Applicants with certain medical conditions are not restricted to apply for some degree programmes. Please read this document for more details.



International Qualifications

Applicants presenting qualifications from overseas education institutions will be considered for admission to the degree programmes offered by the following Overseas Universities:

  1. DigiPen Institute of Technology
  2. The Culinary Institute of America
  3. University of Nevada, Las Vegas


SAT I and SAT II will be taken into account for admission purposes if applicants submit their scores to SIT.



Transfer Students

Applicants from one of the local Autonomous Universities in Singapore may also apply to SIT. Applicants will need to submit their applications online when the application period commences. Each degree programme will have its own admission requirements and applicants will need to meet these requirements just like any other new applicant.

Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Transfer of credits is also on a case-by-case basis for certain degree programmes.

Students (Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents) who transfer or are re-admitted within SIT or across the autonomous universities will be eligible for the tuition grant up to the normal programme duration* for the SIT degree programme after subtracting the number of semesters of tuition grant received for the previous programme(s).

* normal programme duration for full-time undergraduate programmes in SIT is taken to be four semesters (six semesters in the case of DigiPen Institute of Technology).
