The maximum candidature period refers to the normal candidature period and one extended year of study. For example, a student enrolled in a two-year degree programme has a maximum candidature period of three years. Tuition grant is not available for the extended year of study and students are subject to full tuition fees.
In order to complete the degree requirements within the normal specified period of candidature, full-time undergraduate students in SIT are expected to carry an academic load of approximately 4 to 7 modules per semester depending on the programme of study of the individual student. Students who are unable to carry out the normal academic load per semester may exceed the normal candidature period. This will result in extension of study and the student is subjected to pay full fees for the extended semesters.
Students who seek to take more or less than the allocated workload must obtain approval from the respective Overseas University Partners via SIT in writing to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
