Chan Wing Leong is the Chief Financial Officer of the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), a position he has held since its inception. Aside from Senior Management duties, Mr Chan is in charge of finance and legal matters at SIT.
Mr Chan graduated with first class honours in Economics at the National University of Singapore in 1981. He was a Local Merit Scholarship holder appointed to the Administrative Service after graduation where he was posted to the Ministry for Trade and Industry. He subsequently worked several years in other government related or linked organisations such as EDB and MINDEF.
Mr Chan was an investment banker from 1988 to 1995 with Schroders PLC as a Regional Representative. As the Managing Director at Bankers Trust in Singapore and Hong Kong, Mr Chan was responsible for infrastructure and project financing, and asset securitisation in Asia ex-Japan. He returned to Singapore in 1995 to join SembCorp Ltd, where he held various positions as Chief Financial Officer, President of New Businesses, and was also Chairman of Pacific Internet and Delifrance until 2002 when he was appointed Executive Chairman of Easycall Ltd. Mr Chan also currently sits on private and public listed company boards in addition to his appointment at SIT.
